It can be easy for the uninitiated to assume that the John Wick movies are just big, dumb action flicks. However, it doesn't take long to realize that a great deal of thought and effort goes into the world building of our favorite dog-loving assassin, and one of our first indications of that comes in the first film as John enters the Continental Hotel in New York City.
